At the heart of the design is a strong connection between the house and garden, with carefully chosen materials and structured lines mirroring the home’s modern aesthetic. Poured concrete retaining walls provide essential structural support while contributing to the sleek, industrial feel of the space. This is softened by lush, textural planting, with ornamental grasses like Calamagrostis ‘Karl Foerster’ adding movement and contrast against the architectural elements.
One of the standout features is the uninterrupted sea views, which are enhanced by a glass balustrade, ensuring the surrounding natural beauty remains the focal point. The tiered layout allows for distinct zones, including an elegant lounging area, alfresco dining space, and a plunge pool surrounded by olive trees, evoking a luxurious holiday atmosphere. Black metal privacy screens subtly divide the space, offering seclusion without compromising the open, airy feel.
The design perfectly balances industrial and rustic elements, juxtaposing raw concrete with natural stone to create a space that is both contemporary and timeless. Every detail is carefully curated to enhance the tranquil coastal setting, ensuring that whether enjoying a morning coffee or hosting an evening gathering, the garden provides an immersive experience of relaxation and luxury.
A collaboration with Studio Gotz, this project exemplifies how architecture and garden design can work in harmony, creating an outdoor space that enhances both the home and the lifestyle of its owners. Through meticulous planning and creative execution, this once-challenging site has been transformed into a truly spectacular coastal retreat.
